Research Assistant, Transparency and Health Research Project

2014-2016 member of Newfoundland Labrador research exchange group on Arts and Health. Chaired by the Centre for Applied Health Research, Newfoundland Labrador; a monthly meeting of artists and healthcare professionals working with the arts and healing exchanging ideas and research.

2012-14 , Eastern Health- Saint Luke’s Home, St. John’s,Newfoundland

Taught drawing, painting, sculpture. Courses designed for varied levels of physical and cognitive functioning.

2007-14  Anna Templeton Centre for Craft, Art and Design, St. John’s, Newfoundland

Taught Adult Introduction to Drawing

Students learn various techniques  with pen and ink, charcoal and pencil. The focus of the course is to articulate what you see, and to translate what you see into a drawing. There is also a continuous emphasis on design and composition.

2007-09 Taught Children's Summer Camps

Teaching children ages 5-12 three hour workshops. Each session had a specific objective such as, to make a sculpture or figure drawing with charcoal.

2011-12  MacDonald Drive Junior High, St. John’s, Newfoundland

ArtSmarts program NLAC grades 7-9. I directed students in the research, design and creation of three hanging artworks that were based on the human body. The three sculptures were inspired by DNA replication, heart protein cells and the musculature system. These mobiles were created from various materials including fabric, beaded wire, tatted rope, styrofoam balls and paper origami. The final works are installed in the Learning Resource Centre of MacDonald Drive Junior High.

2011, Arts Work Conference , Dept. of Education Newfoundland and Labrador, leading workshops in sculpture for teachers grades K-6.

2005-2007  Memorial University Continuing Education, St. John’s, Newfoundland

Adult Introduction to Drawing and Pastels, Students learned basic drawing techniques, colour theory, and composition.
